一、Declaration

The Johns Hopkins University- Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies is about to celebrate its 40th anniversary. To create a cultural symbol that reflects the spirit of the center and to unite the community, we are now conducting a public mascot design competition. The details are as follows:

二、Inspirational elements

Core inspiration element: By blending the calmness and inclusiveness of Nanjing University's "Blue Whale" with the agility and vitality of Johns Hopkins University's "Blue Jay", a creative spark of cross-cultural integration is generated.

Colour suggestion: The 40th anniversary logo of the university adopts NJU Purple and JHU Blue. Your mascot design can align with the visual system of the logo, while also taking international appeal and friendliness into consideration, and conveying the concept of coexistence and diversity.

From now until February 24, 2026 (Tuesday)

四、Requirements

1.Format：

l High-definition graphic design file, with a resolution of no less than 300dpi

l File size: Greater than 1M

l File format: JPG or PNG

2.Submission Method：

l Please send the work and design concept to the email address: qyiyang@nju.edu.cn

l Email subject format: [Mascot Submission] Name + Year in School

3. Design Ideas：

l Please provide a description of approximately 300 words, elaborating on the creative origin of the mascot, its symbolic meaning, and its connection to the spirit of the China-US Center.

五、Attention

1. The submitted works must be original and have never been published in any form before.

2. If the work is selected, the center will contact the author to obtain the source files of Adobe Photoshop or Adobe Illustrator.

3. The intellectual property rights of the final selected works belong to the China-US Center. The center has the right to make appropriate modifications and applications to the works.

4. The contributors of the selected works will receive a commemorative certificate from the center.

Whether you already have a background in design or not, as long as you have a deep affection for the center, please use your unique perspective and sincere heart to create the image that best represents our shared memories and the spirit of the center.
