40th Anniversary | Faculty-Student Celebration Marking HNC's 40th Anniversary and JHU's 150th Anniversary

On March 6, 2026, the Johns Hopkins University–Nanjing University Center for Chinese and American Studies (Hopkins–Nanjing Center) 

held a faculty-student celebration marking the 40th anniversary of HNC and the 150th anniversary of JHU.



Originally established in 1986, the Hopkins–Nanjing Center will hold its 40th anniversary celebration in Nanjing on June 20 of this year. 

Johns Hopkins University, one of the founding institutions of the Center, was founded in 1876 as the first research university in the United States, 

and celebrated its 150th anniversary on February 22 of this year. 


The faculty-student celebration was held to build momentum for the upcoming 40th anniversary of HNC, 

while also honoring the long and distinguished history of Johns Hopkins University.
