On November 26th, the 10th anniversary exchange event of the Rhodes Scholarship in China was held in Beijing. Vice President of Nanjing University, Lu Yanqing, was invited to attend the event and held a meeting with Sir Richard Trainor, the former vice president of Oxford University and the chairman of the Rhodes Foundation.

Professor Irene Tracey, the president of the University of Oxford, and Professor Sir Richard Trainor, the chairman of the Rhodes Foundation, jointly presented commemorative certificates to the partner universities, including Nanjing University, expressing gratitude for their long-term support of the Rhodes Scholarship program. A total of two students from Nanjing University received Rhodes Scholarships to study at the University of Oxford, including Chen Yan (from the School of Foreign Languages, 2019 grade) and Yan Yan (from the School of Social Sciences, 2020 grade).

During the event, Vice President Lu Yanqing held a working meeting with Professor Sir Rick Terrell. The two sides had in-depth discussions on issues such as the internationalization of higher education and the cultivation of top-notch innovative talents. They reached several consensus on further expanding the cooperation between Nanjing University and the Rhodes Foundation. Lu Yanqing stated that Nanjing University has always been committed to "providing the best undergraduate education in China", and hopes to work with the Rhodes Foundation to cultivate future leading talents with a global perspective. Rick Terrell highly praised Nanjing University's achievements in talent cultivation and international cooperation, and expressed that he would continue to maintain dialogue and interaction with Nanjing University, jointly promoting the partnership between the two parties to a new level.
